 We
are a small club in a quiet part
of Sale with a fine clubhouse set in peaceful and lovely surroundings,
with lots of trees and a superb bowling green.
The members enjoy
socialising, a pint of mild or bitter, chatting and a game of snooker when
indoors. We have 2 teams playing league snooker in the Winter months and 4
teams playing league crown green bowls during the Summer evenings.
Recently, we formed 3 more teams, for our veterans to play over-60s
league bowls in the Summer afternoons.
It is truly a most delightful situation.
We also enjoy a range of additional
activities which often take us out and about. Golf days are a favourite,
even though we are not a golf club as such. Spring and Summer golf
competitions take place and most years we organise a golf holiday abroad;
previous years we have been to Spain, Portugal, Ireland and Florida.
Sometimes,
we have sea or river fishing trips, as a day out or for a long weekend.
When the fishing is over for the day, there's always good company around
for conversation or playing cards or poker!
During each year, we also hold a number of clubhouse events, such as race
nights or quiz nights or games nights, which are highly rated by the
members.
The Christmas Draw is something very special.
